What we collect, and when
Only what you send us. If you use the contact form, we get your name, your email address and whatever you write in the message. If you use the costing tool, the numbers you type stay in your browser — they are not sent to us and we never see them. If you click Tell us about this one, those numbers are written into the contact form’s message box so you don’t have to retype them; they still only reach us if you choose to send the form, and you can edit or delete them first.
If you accept analytics cookies, Google Analytics records anonymised page-visit data. If you decline, nothing is loaded and nothing is counted. The cookie policy has the detail.
Why we hold it, and on what basis
To answer you, and to keep a record of the conversation if it turns into work. Our lawful basis is legitimate interests — you contacted us and expect a reply — and, for analytics, your consent.
Who else sees it
Netlify, our hosting provider, which receives contact form submissions and passes them to us by email, and which logs standard access data such as IP address as part of running a website. Google Analytics, only if you accepted. Nobody else. We have no mailing list, we do not sell data, and we do not share it for anyone else's marketing.
How long we keep it
Enquiries that do not become work are deleted within two years. Where we take on a project, the correspondence is kept for six years after it ends, which is the period we may need it for tax and contractual purposes.
Your rights
You can ask for a copy of what we hold, ask us to correct or delete it, or object to us holding it. Use the contact form and we will deal with it within a month. If you are not satisfied you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk.
Changes
If this notice changes materially we will update this page. It was last reviewed in August 2026.
